A 16 year old (I'm not really sure if it's a boy of a girl) and his or her father hooked up their house with 35,000 LED lights and created the coolest Christmas light show ever with them. They flicker on and off along with the beat of Skrillex's song "First of the Year." I really wish I could visit Meridan, Idaho to see this in person.
Skrillex released this video just in time for Christmas. The video is interesting, depicting a tainted Santa Claus and an elf- I guess this is skrillex's way to spread holiday cheer. Enjoy, and merry Christmas to those that celebrate it.
Xaphoon Jones, producer of Chiddy Bang, released this tune for Christmas a couple of days ago. The song features rapping from Elbee Thrie and a beats from one of Xaphoon's unreleased songs. I suggest you check out the rap group, Phony Ppl, that Elbee Thrie is part of, they've got some really good songs.

British DJ Star Slinger put his touch on Rihanna's hit song "We Found Love." He made it a little less electro-poppy and slowed it down a bit. Give it a listen below.

Here's the second release in Luke Christopher's series that he started last week called Marvelous Mondays. This latest song is called "The Tree in My Backyard." It's got great vocals and is the perfect track to listen to while driving. His mixtape, Building Skies, should be coming out soon, and if this is any indication of what will be on it, it's going to be great.

Here's a new track from Skizzy Mars titled "Shangri-La." He's really starting to get a lot more attention now. This one's a bit slower than some of his other songs, but still great. On his facebook page he said this about his new track:
I was in the studio last night when I realized I had just hit 10,000 fans. I’ve been writing a bunch of music recently as I continue to work on my debut project, Phases. While Phases is a story in itself, I still find myself with a bunch of other stories I want to tell due to other experiences and changes in my life etc. I got inspired to write Shangri-La and recorded it yesterday. Just another story to tell. In celebration of 10,000 fans, Shangri-La.Shangri-La by SkizTheRapper

Sex Ray Vision made an excellent remix of Snow Patrol's song, "Open Your Eyes." The Stanford University duo turned the mellow song into an upbeat tune that is more pop-y. I think the original song gets a little repetitive in certain parts, but this remix fixes that. Check it out below.
Open Your Eyes (Sex Ray Vision Remix) by sexrayvision
I'm not the biggest Rihanna fan, however I love her song, "We Found Love." Klaypex did a great remix of it, which in my opinion makes it an even better song to dance to. They added some dubstep and made it a bit more techno. Give it a listen for yourself below.
We Found Love (Rihanna) by Klaypex
Luke Christopher is starting a new series called Marvelous Mondays, and his latest release, "Letter to Myself" is the first of the series. This is a self-produced track, and I think Luke did a great job with it. He will be releasing a new mixtape (Building Skies) soon and this newest track may or may not appear on it.
Letter to Myself MARV MONDAY by Luke Christopher
So here's a kind of strange mixture of people. Will.I.Am's latest song features Jennifer Lopez on the chorus as well an an appearance by Mick Jagger. "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)" seems like it's more of a love it or hate it song, and I think I'm leaning to the love it side. It has a great beat to it that will get you moving.

Bon Iver's self title album is one of my favorite albums of this year. The band recently released the music video for their song "Michicant." Bon Iver's video's always show beautiful imagery of nature, and this one is no exception.
Sorry there haven't been any posts for a while, it's been really hectic around here since first semester is ending this week. I've had a bunch of papers and I have finals this week, so there hasn't been a lot of time to make posts. Anyway, here's the new music video for Foster the People's song "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls). It's not my favorite song from them, but it's got a great playful music video, and features a cameo from actress Gabourey Sidibe. Check it out for yourself above.

Here's a cool DJ that I had never heard of before. Here's a part of the description of him, which can be found on his Soundcloud page,
Award Winning Artist, Producer, and remixer Justin Sane is on fire right now as one of the most listened to DJ's in New Zealand. With over half a million hits on YouTube, Justin has remixed the likes of 3Oh!3, Kids Of 88, Midnight Youth, Dane Rumble, J Williams, Scribe, Deach, Kidz In Space, K.One and Boh Runga with remixes signed to worldwide giants Atlantic (US), Warner Music, Universal Music and local labels - Move The Crowd, Illegal Musik & Dryden Street. My two favorite songs that he has remixed recently are Jessie J's song "Domino" and Flo Rida hit "Good Feeling." Give those two a listen below.

Sorry there haven't been any posts for a while, I've been really busy with school work. Professor's love slamming on the homework the week before Thanksgiving break. Anyway, here's a song that Chiddy Bang released a few days ago. "Ray Charles" is off of their new album, Breakfast, which will be out on February 28.
This song is actually not inspired by the music legend, Ray Charles, but rather by Chiddy's brother "Cheeseburger Don." Chiddy said, "the song actually started out as a joke when my brother, Cheeseburger Don, got so high he fell asleep in the studio with his sunglasses on, I looked over and he reminded me of Ray Charles, probably because I was high, too. I started freestyling about him and we laid it down right there."

This might have to be one of my favorite mashups of the year. Chuckie combined last summer's hit song "Stereo Love" by Edward Maya with one of the hottest songs of this year, "Levels" by Avicii. This mashup is flawless and I guarantee you will have it on repeat.

Mumford & Sons made a song for the new Wuthering Heights movie. I'm not sure when the movie is coming out in America. I don't think that this is the full length of the song, but Marcus Mumford's voice still manages to be captivating even though the clip is only a little more than one minute long.

Boston, Massachusetts trio The Dean's List released their single "All My Troubles" over the summer. They now have an official music video for the song. This song is a more electro than their past songs, but I think it's a nice change of pace. Check it out above.
Here's a song that will get you pumped up for the weekend. Pretty much everything Diplo touches is fire and this song is no exception. Even though it doesn't have any words it still gets you in the move to groove.

Eighteen-year old New York rapper Skizzy Mars released his track, "Another World" just one hour ago. After listening to it only once I can say that it's one of my favorite tracks from him. I can't wait for his new mixtape, Phases, to come out, although I'm not sure when that will be. He's definitely one of my favorite underground rappers out right now and continues to never disappoint with this new song.

Mike Stud recently released the official music video for his song "Bottle It Up" featuring Kinetics & One Love. The song is extremely catchy, and I could definitely picture hearing it on the radio. The music video has got some great visuals that go perfectly with the lyrics of the song. It seems like many of Mike Stud's video's are set on the beach, so this one is a nice, albeit a bit darker, change.
Here's a great mashup from Captain Cuts which combines Avicii's smash hit "Levels" with The Knocks' song "Dancing with the DJ." Both of these tracks have been remixed separately a bunch of times, however this mashup combining the two is a banger. Give it a listen below, and I guarantee you will want to download it.

So I don't know if any of you have heard about Chet Haze, an upcoming rapper who just so happens to be Tom Hanks' son. I know, weird right? Well he actually isn't that bad in my opinion. His new song is quite catchy, although it does get a bit repetitive after a while. I could definitely see him making a name for himself in the music industry though. Check out his newest single, "Hollywood," above.

This song sounds exactly like how I would imagine a Halloween to be. It features Designer Drugs, The Bloody Beetroots, Three 6 Mafia, Nine Inch Nails and some others. It really puts you in the spirit for Halloween. You can give it a listen and download it below if you want.

Here's a great live performance from Young the Giant, performing their song "Typhoon." I'm not really sure where it's taking place, but the setting and lighting really help to set the tone for this song. I would love to see these guys in concert, the lead singer, Sameer Gadhia, has such a great, mesmerizing voice.

Here's a cool mashup from DJ Bahler. The song features vocals from Soul Khan and instrumentals from the XX, and the end result is pretty great.
According to his Facebook page the people that influenced him the most are The Hood Internet, E-603, Dylan Vasey, Passion Pit, Frail Limb Purity, The Legion of Doom, Party Ben, Girl Talk, and LOO & PLACIDO. I can definitely see how he's making a name for himself among that group of DJs.
Check it out below for yourself, and there's a download link for it below.

Here's an interesting mashup from the Hood Internet. It features vocals Santogold along with the Beastie Boys from their song "Don't Play No Games That I Can't Win." The instrumentals for the song are from Weird Tapes' song "Party Trash." It's got a cool techno-y feel to it, that I think you all should check out.

The British duo, The Ting Tings, who are famous for their song "That's Not My Name" recently released this jam called "Hang It Up." This song has a bit more of a rocker feel to it then what you might be used to hearing from them, but it's still very catchy. Check out the music video for the song above, it's really cool and filled with energy.
Anyway, look out for their new album, which should be out soon.

Sorry it's been kind of inconsistent with posting lately, it's in the middle of midterms and there's been very little time to make posts. Anyway, here's a fun remix from British DJ Star Slinger for Trombone Shorty's song "Do To Me." It's a few days old, but I figured I would post it anyway since it's such an upbeat song. Here's a cool Portuguese jam which is a collaboration between Dj Chuckie and Argentinian dj Nico Hamuy. It starts out really slow with only one voice, but slowly starts to pick up the pace, and more people join in on the singing. By about 1:50 in the song turns into a cool samba-dance-electro hit. By the end of the song I guarantee you will be grooving. Turn up the volume give it a listen for yourself below.

Anyway, here's a new song from Dean and Ravo called Windows Down. You can download a low quality version of the song below, or just listen to a Youtube stream of it above. The song is really catchy and apparently it's going to be featured in the Hyundai Veloster Campaign, so look out for that.

Here's an interesting fact about Monarchy: Their first live show was broadcast into space, making them the first music group to perform live into space. I don't really know why they did that... I guess to get some alien followers. That's pretty cool though.

So here's an unusual tribute song to Steve Jobs by DJ Chuckie. It's kinda weird that I want to start dancing to this song, when Jobs' passing was such a sad event. I think Chuckie did a great job incorporating Jobs' speech into the song, it doesn't feel forced at all. The only issue I have is that I could never imagine this playing at a club because that would be a little weird. Anyway, give it a listen for yourself.

So I happen to be a really big Feist fan, but I haven't had a chance to listen to her new album, Metals, which came out this past Tuesday. Here's a cool Hot Young Girls remix of her song "How Come You Never Go There." I'm pretty sure the original isn't this upbeat and probably doesn't have dubstep going on in it. Check out the song for yourself, and download it below.

SuperVision aka Blake Hanson, is another signee under the Pretty Lights music label. He originally hailed from Fort Lauderdale, but he moved to Colorado in 2002, which is when he met Derek Vincent Smith and Michal Menert. He has the same chill sound that all of the members of the Pretty Lights label have. Anyway, SuperVision just released his new mixtape Telescopic, which you should download, turn up the volume, sit back and relax.

Rostam Batmanglij, one fourth of the indie group Vampire Weekend, recently released his song "Wood." It's not so very different from normal Vampire Weekend songs, except it has an Asian twist. I love the end of the song when the sitar becomes more pronounced (I think it's a sitar anyway). Rostam does an excellent job blending the Western sounds with eastern instruments. Give it a listen for yourself, and you can download it below.

Just when I thought I was tired of hearing Kelly Rowland's song "Motivation," Hood Internet comes along and does this cool mashup with Little Dragon's song "Ritual Union." G-Eazy released a new track yesterday called "Mercedes Benz (The American Dream)" which features a sample from Janis Joplin. It kind of shocked me when it started out, because I wasn't expecting to hear Janis's voice straight away. G-Eazy has great flow on this track and he meshes well with Janis Joplin's strong voice. Here's a description from G-Eazy's website about the song:
I was digging through my mom’s record collection and stumbled upon Janis Joplin’s ‘Pearl’ record. I had heard “Mercedes Benz” before, but it had been a few years. It was one of those moments where I instantly jumped up, and decided it would be a dope song to flip. The concept is so relatable, and the passion is so present in her voice. The original is an acapella, so I wrote some chords and called my homie John Michael over to lay down some acoustic guitar parts down behind her vocal. I’m stoked on how it came out.
Check it out below.

You may remember that we did a post on Paul Basic's remix of the classic song "Daydream" by Wallace Collection, which was a cool electro take on a really old song. That song is just one of many great tracks featured on his new EP, The Mirror.

I have apparently been living under a rock, because I had no idea who Novi Novak was up until yesterday. His biggest hit is his take on Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow"- the music video has over 3 million views on youtube. When I first heard of Captain Cuts I thought it was just a one man show, but it turns out Captain Cuts is a trio. The group is made up of Ryan McMahon, Ryan Rabin and Ben Berger. The original is great, and this remix is awesome as well.
